When I heard the news about Obiwon being a gospel artiste I was surprised. So, I decided to blog about it to tell my readers that did not know.

 Obiora Obiwon R&B singer turned gospel artiste covering September edition of Vine Magazine (an entertainment and lifestyle magazine for young positive minds) says 'switching to gospel was not a business decision'.

Obiwon speaks about his conversion and terrifying salvation experience as well as his relationship with Tuface, Blackface, Flavour, Ill-Bliss and others which spans almost two decades.

Interviewed by Vine Magazine Editor, 'Seun Salami, Obiwon also speaks about the initial rejection and skepticism he had to endure from the 'gospel community' after he made the switch to gospel music and why he is not comfortable charging fees to minister. He also had some stern words for other gospel artistes who 'demand' payment to minister.

This edition also features Pastor J (Jimmy Odukoya), Nikki Laoye, PITA and more.

Vine Magazine which is now distributed free every month, is out this Sunday (August 25) and will be given out at major youth churches around the city of Lagos and environs as well as major gospel gigs going down throughout the month of September.

 Hello!

How have you been? I have been really busy but I couldn't help but make a post about this book launch I went for on Sunday.  It was really a wonderful time.

It was my first time of going for a book launch and I was opportuned to take the first reading of the book. I read the chapter on 'Steps to becoming stylish'.

Enough of my ramblings, lets talk about the event.

Funto Oni, a 23 year old Beauty entrepreneur cum Chartered Accountant, presented her first book 'Beautified' to the public during the event. The book is extremely beautiful and attractive while the launch was just as colourful.

Some guests who witnessed the launch include Pastor Kunle Soriyan of the Fountain of Life Church; (Pastor) Jimi Tewe of Inspiro Consulting; Bankole Williams, author of 'Engaged to a Job I hate and Steve Harris, Life Strategist and author of 'From College Drop-out to Corporate Sell-out' & 'From Friend to Fiancee; Blogger, Olorisupergal and Mrs. Love Olaleye of Flawless Makeovers.

Guests were also treated to awesome music by the likes of David (Project Fame), TJ Sax and comedy from MC EmmaOhMaGod (of CoolFM and Wazobia FM), Dee One and SLK.

According to 'Seun Salami, (Head of Publishing, Bookvine) publisher of the book, "Beautified is the complete beauty and style guide for every woman as well as men who care about their women." He described Funto as an extremely passionate and purpose driven lady with a radiating personality.

The book is available by order (07034298496) for N2500 and will be out in stores as from Monday August 26.

Lara: My name is Lara Akinyemi MBBS (Lagos), I'm a medical doctor in Luth. I'm an outgoing and fun-loving person.

FNL: What does fashion mean to you?
Lara: Everything is fashion. It's a statement, personal self expression. Part of your everyday life.

FNL: What inspires your style?
Lara: My mood.

FNL: Describe your style in 3words? 
Lara: Simple, classy and demure.

FNL: Who are your style icons?
Lara: Tamika Fletcher, Solange Knowles

 

 FNL: What are your most favorite stores and why?
Lara: Debenhams; You can get stuffs from different cool labels, Newlook; They are affordable,
 Topshop; Lovely jewelries and unique outfits, Asosonline; They have affordable and pretty items,

  Primark; I can get replica of big labels I have longed for at affordable prices sometimes.

FNL: Who are your favorite designer brands and why?

Lara: Louboutins (every girl does love Loubs, lol); heavenly shoe, Gucci/ Chanel; thier bags are assets.

FNL: What are your favorite pieces in your closet?

Lara: My neck pieces and dresses.

FNL: What fashion item can you not do without?

Lara: My lipsticks (apart from my cloth ofcourse,hahahaa)

 

 

 

  FNL: What is your take on the African Fashion Industry?
 Lara: African fashion is the new trendy!

FNL: What won't you be caught wearing?
Lara: Shorts,decolletage

FNL: What do you think about Fashion and Lover's blog?

Lara: Fashion and lover's blog is like a time bomb waiting to explode big time!!
